Ask your child what the name of one of their group leaders.
Prayer: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Jesus, thank you for being the best example to serve life. Help me to make the world a better place by serving others wherever I go. St. Damien of Molokai, pray for us. Amen.
Theme
The Theme was “RESPECT LIFE!” At each of our stations, we had fun learning about life and how we can respect all of God’s creation, and how we are called to treat each person with the utmost respect.
Virtue of the Day
The Virtue of the Day was Respect. To respect someone means to treat others the way you want to be treated. We did a virtue demonstration using balloons. We explained how the balloons represented the differences from each person and when we hurt others by being disrespectful with our words it is like taking a pin and popping their balloons. We learned that the Bible reminds us to treat others as we want to be treated. We need to be lifting people up, by respecting their differences rather than popping their balloons.
Saint of the Day
The Saint of the Day was St. Gabriel the Archangel. We presented each child with a saint card today, so please read the story on the back of the card with your child.
Faith Station
In the faith station, your child learned a Bible verse - Matthew 7:12. “Do to others, what you would have them do
to you.”
Music Station
The new Cat.Chat songs of the day were “Pure” and “I Will Dance." Ask your child to sing and do some of the actions to these songs. You can also download all the songs with this link. We hope you continue to listen to the songs hey learn this week so VBS will remain in their heart all year long.
Craft Station
Today we made Birthday Blast Buddies. Ask your child who their partner was - and if they think their "birthday buddy" looks like them. We also had a Saint of the Day Coloring Page.
Snack Station
The kids made Flavorful Flowers in their snack station. It reminds us to protect all of God's beautiful creations. Ask your child how they decorated their flower.
Games Station
We played some fun games including a scavenger hunt Ask your child to tell you what they enjoyed the most in the games station today!
