Prayer: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Heavenly Father, thank you for being the Protector of our lives. We pray for the weak, the sick, the elderly, the unborn, and the poor.
Help us to reach out to all people with compassion. Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us. Amen.
Theme
The Theme was “PROTECT LIFE!” At each of our stations, we had fun learning about life and all the wonderful ways we can protect and cherish it, especially the life of the unborn.
Virtue of the Day
The Virtue of the Day was Compassion. To be compassionate means to care deeply for those who suffer. We did a demonstration where two volunteers got candy and cookies, while two other volunteers did not get any. We learned how compassion moves our hearts to reach out to others with the desire to help. In the end, the two volunteers shared the cookies and candy with the others.
Saint of the Day
The Saint of the Day was Our Lady of Guadalupe. We learned that image of Mary signifies her Motherhood, as she is protecting the Child Jesus is in her womb. We presented each child with a coloring page of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We presented each child with a saint card today, so please read the story on the back of the card with your child.
Faith Station
In the faith station, your child learned a Bible verse - Psalm 46:1. “God is our refuge and strength.”
Music Station
The new Cat.Chat songs of the day were “God is Here” and “Life is Great." Ask your child to sing and do some of the actions to these songs. You can also download all the songs with this link. We hope you continue to listen to the songs hey learn this week so VBS will remain in their heart all year long.
Craft Station
Today we made Prayer Journals. Ask your child to share how they will use their prayer journal. We also had a Saint of the Day Coloring Page.
Snack Station
The kids made Cracker Stackers in their snack station. It reminds us remind us that life is precious and needs to be handled with care.
Games Station
We played some fun games including beach ball dodge ball and freeze tag. Ask your child to tell you what they enjoyed the most in the games station today!
