One more day of the longest birthday party ever with got Cat.Chat's BIRTHDAY BLAST: A Celebration of Life! Vacation Bible School. Ask your child to share the best thing they learned this week.
Prayer: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Jesus, thank you for being the best example to serve life. Help me to make the world a better place by serving others wherever I go. St. Damien of Molokai, pray for us. Amen.
Theme
The Theme was “SERVE LIFE!” At each of our stations, we had fun learning about life and all the ways we can reach out to those who need our help.
Virtue of the Day
The Virtue of the Day was Helpfulness. To be helpful means to offer a helping hand to others. We did a demonstration with straws. There was one side of the room where there were 3 or 4 volunteers picking up straws, while on the other side of the room there was one volunteer picking up the same amount of straws. Which side do you think was done first? We learnt that offering a helping hand is being a gift to another person. The Bible says, “God is my helper” (Psalm 54:4). If God helps us in everything, we should always be ready to help the people around us.
Saint of the Day
The Saint of the Day was St. Damien of Molokai. We presented each child with a saint card today, so please read the story on the back of the card with your child.
Faith Station
In the faith station, your child learned about studying to become a priest. We also learned about Blessed Carlo Acutis who will be the first millennial saint. Ask them to see the blessed prayer card they received.
Music Station
The new Cat.Chat songs of the day were “Be Blessed” and “Your Love Never Ends." Ask your child to sing and do some of the actions to these songs. You can also download all the songs with this link. We hope you continue to listen to the songs hey learn this week so VBS will remain in their heart all year long.
Snack Station
The kids made Works of Mercy Mix in their snack station. It helps us remember the 7 Corporal Works of Mercy. Ask your child if they can remember what foods were in the mix.
Craft Station
Today we made Praying Hands Note Holders. Ask your child to share some of the prayers they included. We also had a Saint of the Day Coloring Page.
Games Station
We played some funny games today. Ask your child which was their favorite!
Take Home Items
